SchoolNow and the SchoolNow Academy announce three upcoming webinars have been added to its winter webinar series. The SchoolNow Academy Webinar Series is a continuing education program developed by SchoolNow to offer webinars for school administrators on pressing topics surrounding web communications for schools. SchoolNow Academy is commented to helping schools by sharing knowledge on various topics related to how schools can improve outcomes through technology.

Upcoming webinars

1. How to Build a “Mobile First” School District

Kicking off the lineup is the “Does your School Need a Mobile App?” webinar, featuring Tim Egan, school mobile app specialist with Dub Labs, scheduled for Thursday, December 4 at 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

3. How to Build a Social Media Program for Your School

Rounding out the webinar series is a reprise of the “Social Media for Public Schools” webinar, originally conducted in October, exact time and date to be determined.

2. Is Google Apps for Education a Good fit for My School?

The second in the series is scheduled for Thursday, February 12, 2 p.m. Eastern, when “Implementing Google Apps for Schools” will be presented by Eric Fulkert, president and CEO of SchoolNow.

“Our webinar series is gaining strong momentum,” said Steve Williams, marketing VP and co-founder of SchoolNow. “It's apparent from the number of school administrators attending and asking about our programs, we’re bringing the experts and the expertise to schools at just the right time,” added Williams.

“There are a lot of issues swirling around how schools can maximize web communications, and we’re proud to be at the center of sharing this valuable content,” Williams said. He went on to say that how schools integrate social media and mobile apps into their web communications are two pressing topics on the minds of school communications directors, webmasters and IT directors.

The webinars are presented by a guest expert – either in-house or from an educational partner – and/or a SchoolNow specialist, and feature a content-packed presentation, interactive polls, surveys, and live Q-and-A sessions.

In addition to the 30-minute presentation, webinar participants receive a complimentary e-book published by SchoolNow. All attendees also receive a personalized Certificate of Completion to acknowledge their professional development.

This Social Media for Public Schools webinar was originally presented this past fall. Schools using social media continues to be a trending topic based on continued interest and previous webinar attendance. That one will be co-presented by Steve Williams and Jay Cooper of SchoolNow’s marketing team.

The Academy joins the SchoolNow blog, an education blog committed to sharing the latest trends in news in web communications with the K-12 and college communities, as part of SchoolNow’s own educational commitment to serving educators through ongoing professional development.

Keep in touch with SchoolNow for information about even more upcoming webinars.
